Senior and Middle School Plays – Spring 2025

This Spring, our 5th- and 6th-graders (Seniors) and 7th- and 8th-graders (Middle School) tackled one of the most difficult things to do well: comedy! And boy, did they bring the laughs.

On April 3, Middle School performed “An Absolutely True Story (As Told By a Bunch of Lying Liars) by Ian McWethy at Rapunzel’s Books & Coffee in Lovingston. Someone broke the Petersons’ heirloom vase and everyone, including the dog, had a different story. Follow along in photos and see if you can guess the culprit. Or did we ever really know? Many thanks to Coe Sweet Photography for capturing these silly, priceless moments.

April 9 saw the Seniors take to the NBS outdoor stage to put on “Beowulf: User-Friendly” by Burton Bumgarner. After an entire class fails the exam on Beowulf, their stern teacher issues a challenge – tell her the famous story and include the characters, action, themes, and history – and they might just pass. There were twists, turns, and reporters following every piece of the action. The photos share their comedic retelling of the epic poem. Thanks once again to Coe Sweet Photography for following the plot and the actors.
