We hope to see all of you Thursday, June 1st at school for our End-of-year program and graduation. The program begins at 6:30 PM and will be held, weather permitting, at North Branch School. If it rains, we will have graduation at Nelson United Methodist Church (this is across from Tye River Elementary School on route 29 south of Lovingston.)
We have many thank yous and goodbyes to say, including . Three of our Middle School students will be graduating this year. Children in Primaries, Juniors, Seniors, and Middle School will have a part in the program. As we are trying to be more environmentally responsible by eliminating the need for plates, utensils, and napkins, a cookie table will follow the ceremonies. Please bring a finger food to share (veggies, fruit, cookies.)
We hope to have EVERY FAMILY of school age children (Pri – MS) attend. Nursery families are welcome if you wish, but are not expected to attend. School-age children will be seated with their group and are expected to be a polite and attentive audience throughout the program.
Oscar thanks all student who participated in the 2017 Spring Mini Soccer Tournament. Congratulations to Las Piñas Alfa Agresvias in Group 1 (Middle School & Seniors), and the Dulces SaCoRas in Group 2 (Juniors and Primaries) for taking first place.
ANNUAL FUND participation: 88%! Please thank your child(ren)’s teachers by helping their class reach 100%. Once the entire school reaches 100%, North Branch receives $2,000 in challenge donations. That will really help out when the bill for the new HVAC system comes in. Please check in with Bonnie if you have any questions.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all who helped with BandFair XV including musicians, lip sync performers, our fabulous emcee & sound techs, silent auction committee, donors & bidders; cake walk organizers, walkers & bakers; food preparers and sellers, children’s area by Little Planets, face painters, the set-up & clean-up crew, parking crew, special sales; all of our sponsors & our wonderful hosts at Cardinal Point Winery. It was a great day AND you raised $7,000 for the Financial Assistance Fund and the Naomi Scherr Memorial Scholarship Fund.
News flash – Cork Raffle makes $6,000 for teacher/staff bonuses, thanks to all of your efforts and a boost to get us to $3,000 from David & Elizabeth Ferrall, so we received the full matching donation! Congratulations to Charlotte for selling the winning ticket and to Susan Butler & Amy Moore for selling the 2nd & 3rd place tickets. Amy also sold the most tickets by 5/19, and Paul & Jennifer Miller sold a boat load of tickets at Band Fair. (Many thanks also to Elizabeth Ferrall for starting BandFair 15 years ago & to Jennifer Miller for the idea of the cork raffle!)
Help needed to staff the North Branch booth at Nelson Community Day on June 17th. See Bonnie.
