Jess, Charlotte and the Junior (3rd-4th grade) class went on a field trip to The UVA Art Museum in Charlottesville to prepare for Writer’s Eye. Writer’s Eye is an annual art and literature competition in which the students attend the museum, pick a piece that inspires them, and write original prose or poetry about it. North Branch is pleased that students and a teacher from our school have been honored by the competition several times in the last few years.
We were privileged to see many amazing art pieces: aboriginal art, objects from the Tang Dynasty in China, and paintings/etchings from the exhibit “The Fourteenth Street School and the Woman in Public,” among many other works.
