It was wonderful to be able to revive one of our favorite days of the school year: Grandparents’ Day. On October 20, we welcomed the Preschool and Early Primary grandparents in the morning, and after time in the classrooms, they stayed for a brief performance followed by lunch with their grandchildren. In the afternoon, grandparents of students in Primary Blue – Middle School visited the classrooms where they were treated to a variety of activities, including reading students’ journals, hearing poetry, exploring a math lesson, making crafts, and more. During staggered assembly times, the children treated their grandparents to songs and diorama presentations. But the best part of Grandparents’ Day is trying to determine whether the grandchildren or the grandparents have the brightest smiles on their faces. (It’s always a draw!)
Many thanks to Coe Sweet and Ross Ruffing for capturing the magic of the day in photos.
