We are thankful for the inspiration and encouragement NBS art teacher, Karen Blackburn, gives to every student. Beginning April 7th, North Branch students’ art will be on display at the Nelson Memorial Library in Lovingston. The art curriculum is based in Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) techniques. TAB is a nationally recognized choice-based art education approach that enables students to experience how an artist really works, though authentic learning opportunities and student-specific responsive teaching. Karen encourages the students to regard themselves as artists and offers them real choices for responding to their own ideas and interests through the making of art.
