There has been so much happening at school! Classroom focus time is always key, but there are lots of games, swinging, sliding, and running on the playground and field every day too. Many groups have been on field trips, including a visit to a local orchard, viewing works of art in local museums, hiking, seeing international music troupes, watching a performance of Macbeth at the American Shakespeare Center, and taking a deep dive into geology by visiting Grand Caverns.
North Branch School also hosted events at school this Fall. Grandparents joined us on October 11 to visit classrooms and explore the campus. Grandparents’ Day is one of our favorite days of the year! Middle Schoolers hosted an Election Issues Forum on October 30. They researched the perspectives of three political parties on a variety of issues, then provided non-partisan summaries on their topics for the community. These future voters will know how to make informed decisions at the polls when it is their turn! On October 19th, NBS hosted a Music Makers’ Evening at our favorite local music spot, Rapunzel’s Coffee & Books. Many thanks to Joia Wood, Michael McConkey, Rob Mezzanotte, Lindsey & Pete Osborne, and Dan Dennis for sharing their talents with the audience, and a special thank you to students Wren, Mabel, Ruby, and Quinn for taking the stage that evening.
