Stone Soup is a favorite tradition at North Branch School. Students chop the vegetables for our delicious soup which is cooked in a large cauldron over a fire. You can find our Head of School, Smith, out there all day helping children add in veggies and stir the pot. Older students make cornbread and butter — yes, you read that right; they make the butter! – to round out the simple and satisfying meal. Before we eat, there is a musical performance that for 40+ years has started with “Simple Gifts” and ended with “Dona Nobis Pacem.”
