Several North Branch classes created works of art from the amazing colors and blooms of September.
Primary Yellow designed self-portraits from items found in nature, while the Seniors took inspiration from artist Andy Goldsworthy. As the students watched this two-minute video – Andy Goldsworthy Land Art & Environmental Art – the sounds of “Wow!” “Whoa!” “Ooh!” filled the air. Then they set off in pairs to collect items from the school grounds to create collaborative pieces. Another Senior project invited students to search in their own yards for color in nature and create a display to share.
You are invited to give it a try too. The instructions are simple: enjoy the outdoors, be curious, be observant, notice the artistic side of nature with its colors, patterns, and designs.
