On Friday, the school gathered for the first assembly of the year. Assembly is held every Friday afternoon at 2:30 (or 2:00 if there’s a play or special program). Students present things they have been working on, such as artwork, journals, science projects, songs and skits. At last week’s assembly, we heard a recorder piece (Sumer Is Icumen In, c. 1260) from Katrien and sons – they took recorder lessons this summer and played this song on the downtown mall:
