Katrien and all of the 7th and 8th graders went on a tubing trip down the James River today. We floated with James River Reeling & Rafting in Scottsville, VA.
The North Branch group launched about 10:30 – we were lucky to have such a beautiful day for the trip. After floating for a while, and seeing a bald eagle, they had lunch on an island. The kids played various games along the way: they lined up by birthday order, made inner-tube stacks and formed a circle of tubes, among other floating activities. I also enjoyed meeting Welly, the company dog. He’s a lovely Great Dane who enjoys running along with the buses and trucks as they relay the tubes back and forth. He reminded me of a royal escort.
