Joy & health to you all summer long!

Earth Day at NBS

We celebrated Earth Day today and were fortunate to have perfect weather. The Senior class went on a stream watching field trip with Maggie to Stoney Creek, where they sampled and recorded the life forms they found in the stream. Other classes spent time on nature projects, working in the garden and other Earth-related studies. Everyone gathered on the field for a much-beloved tradition to sing songs and eat strawberry shortcake (see our Facebook page). After lunch, students broke into two groups, paired off, and either played “Oh, Deer,” a game about resources, or made stepping stones for the garden. Students and teachers also worked on recovery of the paths in the woods, planted flowers, and other projects.
