This year’s class was fairly large by North Branch standards – nine students gave speeches and thanks to their families, teachers and friends. Students also presented various creative gifts to the school. The ceremony opened with several musical and choral pieces and the traditional march to Pomp and Circumstance. A unique feature of this year’s graduation was the papier-mache Yellow Submarine that the students made when they were in third grade. They each made a model of themselves, which they took when they graduated. It was a bittersweet representation of the quick passage of time. After the ceremony (and a loud but brief rainstorm) everyone enjoyed the dessert buffet and time outside.
