Band Fair, North Branch’s largest fundraiser of the year, was on Saturday, May 16th, at Cardinal Point Winery. We lucked out and got beautiful weather this year! The event, which featured live music, wine tastings, a silent auction, children’s activities, refreshments, a truck raffle, a cake walk and an art show, brought in over $5,000 for the school. Thank you so much to Cardinal Point, the Band Fair committee, everyone who helped, everyone who attended, the bands and everyone who bought a raffle ticket or an item at the silent auction.
The truck raffle, new this year, was extremely popular. Many people set their sights on winning the little blue Nissan. The shop class refurbished and tuned up the truck, which was donated by David Ferrall. Ticket sales were brisk. Good-natured arguments were often overheard as people debated the myriad reasons they needed to win that truck! One of the band members of Grey Matter was the winner. It was especially good timing, since his own car broke down on the way to get the truck. Congratulations to him, and thank you to everyone who bought and sold tickets. Thank you David, for the donation of the truck!
The cake walk was wildly popular, and resulted in 10 lucky children going home with cakes that ranged from fancy butter cream to candy-covered to popsicle-shaped. It was a great day – thanks again to Cardinal Point Winery!
