Joy & health to you all summer long!

Trout Release 2020

On March 18th, Senior & Middle School science teachers Maggie and Smith released 133 native brook trout they and their science students raised as part of the Trout in the Classroom program. The first photo shows students testing the aquarium water earlier in the year. This project gave students the chance to observe, measure, and care for the trout from Fall until Spring. In a typical year, the students would have gone to the river to participate in the trout release. It is always a meaningful celebration and time of reflection.

At North Branch School, Science classes for all ages are hands-on and involve predicting outcomes and charting variables. Creative thinking is a big part of the process!
