North Branch celebrates Earth Day

On Friday, the entire community celebrated Earth Day. We began the day with a special assembly – the Juniors performed a play about Anansi the Spider (more on that in another post). Throughout the morning, class time focused on the environment and what children can do on their own and with their families to help the earth. Morning snack was the annual, beloved strawberry shortcake. Later in the day, the Juniors performed their play again, and students split into groups to plant trees (30, for the 30th year of NBS), play the game “Oh, Deer,” make earth-related crafts and play an active game about the water cycle.
