North Branch participates in Read Across America

North Branch students and staff celebrated Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’ birthday on Friday.

The Juniors read 21 Dr. Seuss books in pairs. As a class, they read Fox in Socks and The Cat in the Hat, which was the official 2013 book for the program. The Primary classes also had a Wacky Day (I wish I had a picture of Jessie’s hair)!

This national event involves around 45 million participants. The NEA website states: “The National Education Association is building a nation of readers through its signature program, NEA’s Read Across America. Now in its 16th year, this year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources.”
