North Branch School and the village school in Sipascancha, Peru, are sister schools, a connection begun in 2007 through Steve Bouton, whose nephews attend NBS, and his mother, Ellen Bouton, who is on the NBS Board. The schools are similar in age range, and children in both schools are learning Spanish as their second language. Students have exchanged drawings, letters, and videos about their respective schools, and all in both Sipascancha and NBS are excited by the connection and by the glimpse of school life in a very different culture.
